Essentials for Airway Preparation

Objectives:

1. With the mnemonic provided the students will be able to list the appropriate equipment necessary for endotracheal intubation of a pediatric patient.

2. Using the provided equation for endotracheal tube size estimation the students will be able to estimate the appropriate endotracheal tube size based on the patient’s age.

3. With the knowledge of size to length comparison of the endotracheal tube students will be able to estimate the appropriate depth of insertion of the endotracheal tube based on the tube size.
