We have amazing faculty who are caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated to helping residents exceed their every expectation. Introduction
A Fun and Dynamic Learning Experience
This website is intended to supplement bedside teaching during the PICU rotation at Children's Mercy Hospital, and the PICU passport. The original PICU passport concept is adapted from Penn State Milton S. Hershey medical center.

The Micro Lectures are about 5-10 minute in length. There are 3 interactive learning activities. These activities will help you feel prepared while caring for patients in the PICU.

The Educational Topics section provides in-depth topics covering increased intracranial pressure and single ventricle physiology. These topics may or may not be assigned to you to complete during your rotation. I encourage you to work through them sometime during your PICU rotation.

The section entitled Congenital Heart Lesion of the Month houses a monthly topic including; a facts sheet, key journal articles and an in-depth power point presentation on a key congenital heart lesion.

There are procedure videos available and are helpful just-in time training when preparing to watch or assist a procedure in the PICU. Our faculty and fellows are passionate, experienced and eager to pass on their knowledge to future pediatricians.
