Extubation Readiness

Objectives:

1. The student will be able to list 3 factors that influence a patient's readiness to extubate.

2. The student will be compile a list of the 6 necessary pieces of equipment based on the SOAPME mnemonic.

3. The student will be able to describe the 5 steps necessary to extubate the patient.

4. The student will be able to identify the most common cause for extubation failure in the pediatric population.
